Typography & Localisation Guide
Overview: As Just Eat Takeaway.com expanded across multiple markets, maintaining consistent typography and localisation became increasingly complex. I created a comprehensive typography guide to help teams and external partners make accurate, consistent design decisions across languages, formats, and markets.
My Role: I developed the typography framework, documenting rules around font usage, hierarchy, spacing, localisation considerations, and common design scenarios. The guide was created as a practical resource to support designers, marketers, and external partners in producing consistent brand assets.
Challenges & Approach: The challenge was balancing a global visual identity with the practical realities of localisation. Different languages, character sets, and content requirements introduced unique considerations, requiring a system that was flexible enough for local adaptation while protecting overall brand consistency.
To make the knowledge more accessible, I transformed the guide into an AI-powered assistant trained on its principles. The AI agent can answer real-world design questions, provide guidance in specific scenarios, and help teams apply typography rules more efficiently.
Impact: The guide helped improve consistency across markets, reduced uncertainty around typography decisions, and created a scalable knowledge resource for teams working on localised content. By extending it into an AI agent, the system evolved from static documentation into an interactive tool that supports faster decision-making and knowledge sharing.
